Last Day of Work--

Posted by PicasaFriday was my last day of work. I will have to go back after my maternity leave, unless Wes a big raise at his new job. I feel ready to be home. It's been hard to do even my office hours these days. I'm always the topic of conversation at work, whenever someone sees me. They like to make comments like, "you're getting big," or "I think you've dropped," or my favorite comment from a lady at church last week, "I like your mumu." I was wearing this red dress that actually isn't even a maternity dress, but it's just one of those crinkle dresses that stretches a lot. I told Wes that I now need to burn it!
Hopefully, these babies will stay in for another week or two. I just hope they give my back a break.

Getting BIG

Yes, I'm getting big. I feel huge. I hurt a lot, but I don't want to complain in writing. I feel ungrateful if I complain too much. I'm almost there--to my goal of 35 weeks. Hopefully these twins come happy and healthy.

Decorating the tree

We had fun decorating the tree. We decided to set it up early this year, before I got too big and pregnant. As we were putting the "tinkerbells" (Kylee's name for ornaments) on the tree, she picked-up a golden pear ornament and asked, "Mom, look it's the forbidden fruit!" I thought it was so cute, that now I'm going to think of that every time I look at those golden fruit ornaments. Kids make the holidays so much fun! Thanks, Wes for getting the tree and other decorations out, and setting them up for us! You're the best husband, and you do so much for me--especially with me being so limited.

Pregnant at the movies

This weekend, we went to see New Moon. Kind of disappointing, but fun to see the book put on the movie screen.

Oh, the swelling!

I had to take these pictures to document the swollen feet and legs, or "kankles." This has been my biggest problem during this pregnancy. It sure does hurt, but I'm sure it will all be worth it when I see my cute babies. The picture with the cute skinny foot, is with my sister, Amanda. This is what my legs and feet usually look like--note the huge difference.

Wes having fun Wakeboarding.

Grand Canyon

Conference weekend we went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We listened to the Saturday morning session on the way there. It worked out perfectly because it's about a 2 hour drive from our house in St. George to the Grand Canyon. It was just a quick day trip, but we had never seen it, so we decided to take advantage of my day off work. We also don't have cable TV at our house anymore, so we don't get conference on TV. Sunday, we just listened to it on the radio.
The Grand Canyon is beautiful, but I think I was expecting it to be more red rock like Lake Powell. Wes and I think that Lake Powell is more magestic.

Mammoth Cave

A few weeks ago, we went up Cedar City Canyon and explored some of the Mammoth caves. I didn't last very long all hunched over, but it was still fun. Kylee got a little scared, even though we had flashlights. She still sleeps with a lamp on at night, so she's not used to the dark. Can you see my prego belly in the picture?

It's a boy and a girl!

We've now had 2 ultra sounds to confirm that our twins are a boy and a girl. They look healthy, except the girl is a little smaller. As a result, I have to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist for the remainder of my pregnancy. He's not sure exactly why there's a size difference so early, but hopefully it's nothing serious. All he suggested today as a possible problem would be "twin to twin" where one twin is getting too much blood, and the other isn't getting enough. If this is the case, I would have to go to L.A. or San Francisco to have "laser surgery" on the babies. Scary! I really hope they are fine, but we won't know for 3 weeks until our next appointment.

Wes' Wakeboarding

This is Wes wake boarding at Lake Powell. We went there with the Sessions family. It was a lot of fun! Wes loves Lake Powell and wake boarding is his favorite sport. Check out Wes doing a flip.

Lake Powell

Another summer, another trip to Lake Powell. We really love our yearly trip to Powell. It was really low-key for me this year, since I am pregnant. Although, I enjoyed the relaxation time. Kylee loves to knee-board, and Wes can't get enough wake boarding while we're there. If his body could hold up, I think he would wake board everyday, 3-5 times a day. The weather was good, but a little windy. It actually wasn't hot this year. We even had to use blankets at night when we slept, very unusual.

Yellowstone Pics

Too many pics to post all in one. What a great vacation. Thanks Mom and Dad for sponsoring our trip! We love you all.

Family Reunion in Yellowstone

There were moments we thought we were in Disneyland, with all the crowds. However, Yellowstone really was grand. It was nice to spend time with all my family, and see a little of the beauty that the world has to offer. Kylee loved playing with her cousins.

I'm pregnant!

After almost 4 years of trying, we're pregnant! I've taken over 400 pills, over 100 shots, had my blood drawn over 20 times. It has all been worth it now, because we're pregnant. We're still a little nervous though, because it's still very early in the pregnancy, but we are so excited that we had to tell.

We find out if one or both of the embryos that were implated took. We could be having one or more! We would love twins (two for the price of one), but we're grateful for whatever we get. I'm feeling good. I still have to take a lot of medicine, so my hormone levels stay where they should. I still feel like a lab rat, but it's getting better. My butt has gotten used to the daily injections, and I don't feel as sore as I used to.

Kylee is excited to have a baby brother or baby sister (and a puppy). We told Kylee that we're not getting her a dog until after we have a baby, so now she is really excited about getting a puppy.

An update on our family planning

As many of you know, we are doing in vitro. I had my eggs implanted on Monday, and now I'm on bedrest, waiting for them to take. We'll find out in 10 days if it worked. We do have one egg frozen in Las Vegas, but we're really hoping this time it will work. It's so expensive. I'm grateful for modern technology though. I'll keep updating my blog--stay tuned!

When I count my blessings, I count you twice.

I am so lucky to have my daughter. She is such a joy in my life. She makes me laugh everyday. Just a hug from her melts my stress away. I love Kylee, and I'm so grateful for her. This post is dedicated just to her! Ilove you KYLEE!

New Hair Cut

Do you like my new do? I went to this awesome male stylist, and he gave me this rockin violet color and totally cute cut. I plan to grow my hair out again, and he said this cut will grow out better than my last a-line cut.

Christmas

Christmas was magical this year. Kylee is at that fun age where Santa is real, presents are surprises, and parents can do no wrong. I was supposed to work this Christmas, but I was the lucky one to get put on-call.
Christmas morning we woke Kylee up at 8 am, and she ran into the family room to see what Santa had brought her. As she started opening her first present from Santa, she said, "I guess Santa decided not to give me a lump of coal." You see, Kylee had been kind of naughty lately, and we were using that threat to keep her in line --it really worked. Kylee really wanted to see what coal was. She has a nice rock collection already, and she thought coal would make a nice addition--ha,ha.
After the presents were played with, we went and saw a movie, Bedtime Stories. The first pictures is at the movie theater.

Christmas Eve

Since we had to stay in St. George this Christmas, we decided to invite some friends and family over for dinner. We had Candice, Joe, the Mcdougals, and Amy's parents. It was so much fun. We ate a nice dinner (I'm so pround of my table and place settings-I even used our wedding china), decorated cookies, and played games. Kylee loves playing with Ashley, Brock, and Tyler.

Creative Kylee

This is an example of Kylee playing with her stuffed animals. She was having a "tea party picnic." She was grounded from tv, movies, or friends this day, so she was having fun playing with her toys (and mom).

Thanks Mom!

After Thanksgiving, my mom was nice enough to stay down for another week, to take care of Kylee. Wes had to go out of town for work, and I had to still work at the hospital.

Kylee absolutely loved it! These are pictures of Kylee and her Grandma Julie making apple crisp. My favorite part of the trip was our girls only night, when we watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Necklace 2, and had a nice dinner courtesy of my mom. My mom made us dinner every night. It was nice to come home from work and have a home cooked meal ready.

My mom even took Kylee to school with the tag-a-long bike. I don't have any pictures, but you can look back to older posts and see the bike with Wes and Kylee on it. Mom was nervous, but she did great and Kylee loved it. The night before my mom left, Kylee started crying, and said, "I don't want Grandma to leave. I'm going to miss her." We miss you Grandma, come visit anytime!
